BLACK SUN EMPIRE
'DRIVING INSANE'
BLACK SUN EMPIRE
4LP/2CD
(MARCH 2004)
Black Sun Empire
(brothers
Micha & Milan Heyboer and
Rene Verdult)
touch down with their eagerly awaited debut album
'Driving
Insane'
on their own B.S.E. label.
Full
of dirty rolling tech-step drum'n'bass with amazing production giving a
thick full-on sound throughout,
DJ’s all over the globe have been getting nasty to these tunes for a while
now, so here’s your chance!
The album
features eight tracks – ‘Arrakis’ is loosely based on the original
soundtrack of a well known sci‑fi movie with spooky mantra-like intro
followed by a trancey breakdown; ‘Don’t You’ is a dark and funky roller in
the style of Black Sun Empire’s earlier tracks ‘The Rat’ and ‘Stone Faces’;
‘Breach’ has deep rolling beats, emotional melodies and a heavy rolling
bass; ‘B’Negative
(SKC & Chris Su Remix)’ takes the original to the next level with an epic
intro and a bad ass drop guaranteed to get a crowd moving; ‘Driving Insane’
brings heavily effected vocals and four-to-the-floor influences, but quickly
changes to one of the loudest tunes Black Sun Empire’s ever done; ‘The Rat (Kemal
Remix)’ is a remix of the first release on BSE Recordings and the result is
a beautiful atmospheric but perfectly danceable track; ‘Stasis’ is the true
techno sound for 2004 – hard and melodic and works very, very well on the
dancefloor; ‘Swipe’ is a trance influenced dark funky roller with a grimy
bassline.
The CD
comes with a free bonus CD mixed by
the boys themselves.
