NRK's “Nite:Life” compilation series rolls into 2004 with a
mighty fat DJ mix from Mr. Superchumbo himself, Tom Stephan.
Titled
“These Beats Are…”, Tom has mixed up 74 minutes of dirty and chunky beats
that proves why he is such a highly sought after DJ (and special guest at
Danny Tenaglia’s WMC party).
“These
Beats Are…” contains productions and remixes by the likes of Joey Negro,
Chus & Ceballos, Eddie Amador, Carl Craig and Peace Division, and results in
a mix that makes just as much sense in your living room as it does on the
dancefloor – a hedonistic romp through twisted dark beats and jacking tribal
cuts.
The native
New Yorker, Tom Stephan, cut his teeth in London clubs, DJing with the
essence and vibe created by the likes of Junior Vasquez back in NYC. Tom has
since gone on to hone his own unique sound, producing under the Superchumbo
moniker as well as remixing the likes of Yoko Ono, X-Press 2, Basement Jaxx
and Missy Elliot.
