    Hot Toddy is Chris Todd from Crazy Penis. After the huge success of their 1998 debut album ‘A Nice Hot Bath With...’ (which has sold over 15,000 copies), Jim and Charles decided to take time off to work on solo projects before starting work on their second album. They have now begun work on the new album and have already laid down a few tracks and have recently done a remix of the Problem Kids for Paper and various other remix requests, with more recently one from naked Music. Chris Todd began his Hot Toddy project with a couple of releases on the Nottingham Neon heights label. This was followed with some work for the Tummy Touch offshoot label Peacefeast, where he did remixes which received much praise from DJs and press. He then releases his ‘Stratocoaster’ single in May for Paper, which preceded the album.

The album ‘Super Magic’ continues where the single left off. He mixes freestyle breaks with disco infused house music to create a fresher sound. There are elements of musicality within the album as Chris fuses live instruments with old school breaks and beats. The idea of introducing a live aspect to the album was brought about after live Crazy Penis gigs that were hugely successful and created quite a buzz about their new album.

The album is an excellent run up to the long-awaited second album from Crazy Penis. As well as keeping the Crazy Penis fans happy, ‘Super Magic’ will bring a lot more interest to the band and will obviously raise Chris’ profile and generate a new enthusiasm and intrigue in the band.
