REVOLVO
'KILLING TIME BETWEEN MEALS'
TUMMY TOUCH
LP/CD
(APR 2003)
West
London-based
indietronica outfit Revolvo have produced their splendid debut
album for Tummy Touch, complete with plenty of that quintessential Tummy
Touch eccentricity.
‘Killing
Time Between Meals’ is an album that stirs in plenty of Junkyard funk, dusky
vocal samples, even some country blues and a mellow little skit here and
there.
From the
opening track ‘Too Cool For School’ with its jangley guitars and organic
breakbeat, to the darkside hammond stylings of ‘Something I Shouldn’t Have
Had’, or the country electronica of ‘Nimmo’, ‘Killing Time Between Meals’ is
a long player of quality and diversity in equal measures.
Revolvo’s
debut also includes the track ‘Guns’, officially the Tummy Touch single with
the most ever radio plays and also part of the remarkable “Touch Tones” 7”
series released throughout 2002.
The album is
packaged in stunning new super dual cases.
